On the basis of a long and successful collaboration our multidisciplinary team of specialists at the Breast Center at the UKE has amassed a wealth of valuable experience in the diagnosis and effective treatment of disorders of the breast.
Set up in 2004 to conform with the stringent criteria set by the main German cancer societies, the Deutsche Krebsgesellschaft and Deutsche Gesellschaft für Senologie, the Center (which is certified by these two bodies) achieves the highest national and international quality standards. Our Breast Center offers every possible diagnostic and therapeutic service based on the latest scientific advances.
Every stage of treatment is delivered at our facility – all our medical services are provided under one roof.
Following its own exacting quality assurance procedure, Deutsche Krebshilfe (German Cancer Aid) has rated the "Hubertus Wald Tumor Center – University Cancer Center Hamburg (UCCH)" an "Oncological Center of Excellence". The UCCH is the only center in North Germany to have received such recognition from this reputable non-profit body.

Whether surgical intervention or the latest test results or examination findings, we ensure that all information is shared with other relevant departments and with your personal physician or gynecologist.
The Breast Center at the UKE – a leader in excellence!
In Germany, more than 70,000 women are diagnosed with breast cancer every year. We apply the highest quality standards in order to provide the most reliable and effective diagnosis and treatment possible. Our efforts were recognized in March 2004 when we were the first Breast Center in Germany to receive certification from the Deutsche Krebsgesellschaft (DKG) and the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Senologie (DGS). The Center’s certification is subject to stringent annual scrutiny and review. It was last renewed in May 2015.
Regular certification guarantees the appropriate quality assurance and testifies to the consistent excellent standards of care provided to our patients.
