UCCH Immuno-Oncology Symposium

Harnessing the power of the immune system to fight cancer has been the most important breakthrough in the current oncological era. However, understanding the complex regulatory networks and dynamic interactions between a multitude of immune cell populations in order to elicit a tumor-specific immune response is challenging. Interdisciplinary approaches and collaborative efforts are needed to synergize knowledge and expertise.

Building on the initiative launched in 2019, experts from the UKE and ZMNH in the fields of immunology and oncology met in June 2023 after a long pandemic-related break. The goal of the "2nd UCCH Immuno-Oncology Symposium 2023" was to bring together purely immunology groups that do not have an oncology focus and oncology groups that are just building immunology expertise to present their research priorities, share technological expertise and start a common dialogue and exploit synergies.

The 2nd UCCH Immuno-Oncology Symposium was a great success and made a significant contribution to the further development of research projects at UCCH in the field of cancer immunotherapy.
